How The Upside Index handles site data.

The Upside Index provides NFL Draft analysis, draft tools, trivia games, fantasy football testing tools, and account features. This policy explains the data we may collect, why we use it, and the controls available to users.

Information We Collect

• Account data such as email address, display name, authentication provider ID, subscription or access tier, and profile settings.
• Product data such as saved mock drafts, draft pools, watchlists, league imports, fantasy settings, trivia results, scores, streaks, hints used, and other interactions you choose to save.
• Local browser data such as localStorage values, session status, theme preference, saved trivia progress, and draft tool state used to keep the site working in the same browser.
• Technical data such as IP-derived region, device/browser type, pages requested, timestamps, error logs, performance logs, and security logs collected by hosting and infrastructure providers.
• Payment data is processed by third-party payment providers if paid features are enabled. The Upside Index should not directly store full payment card numbers.

How We Use Information

• Operate the website, maintain login state, and restore saved work across sessions where supported.
• Provide account, profile, draft, fantasy, and trivia functionality.
• Debug errors, protect the platform, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
• Understand aggregate product usage and prioritize improvements.
• Communicate service updates, account notices, and support responses when contact information is provided.

Cookies and Local Storage

The site may use localStorage, cookies, or similar browser technologies to remember login status, profile display, saved mock drafts, draft pool state, daily trivia completions, scores, streaks, hints used, guesses, and theme preferences. Clearing browser data may remove locally stored progress.

Service Providers

We may rely on providers such as Vercel for hosting and logs, Supabase for authentication and database services, Stripe or similar processors for payments, and analytics or email providers for operational services. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to the site.

Optional Newsletters and Email Preferences

A free account does not subscribe you to marketing. When optional newsletter features are available, you can separately choose Weekly Football Insights and Product Updates & Offers during email registration or in Email Preferences on your profile. Google sign-in is not marketing consent: Google users choose preferences after authentication. Choices start unchecked, and declining marketing does not restrict your account.

We keep an auditable record of each affirmative subscription and withdrawal: the account and email address, list, wording version, source, checkbox choice and timestamp. These records help us honour your preferences and demonstrate the choice recorded. Account confirmations, security messages and support replies are separate from newsletters.

Sender and Zoho Mail

We use Zoho Mail for our hello@upsideindex.com business mailbox. When newsletter delivery is activated, we use Sender.net to manage consented recipients and deliver marketing email. Sender receives the email address, subscription/group choices and delivery/suppression status; a name may be provided when needed. Our current synchronization sends the email address, selected groups and status. Sender is not currently used for account confirmation or password-reset delivery.

Newsletter delivery can record delivery events, email opens, link clicks, bounces, spam complaints and unsubscribes. These measurements help operate the mailing list and assess newsletter engagement; email-client privacy settings can make open measurements incomplete or inaccurate. Website analytics and newsletter-provider analytics are distinct. Zoho processes correspondence you send us, including your email address and message contents.

Unsubscribe, Suppression and Retention

Every promotional email must include a working unsubscribe option. You can also change enabled lists in profile Email Preferences, or contact hello@upsideindex.com. We record withdrawals and queue provider updates. If a provider update fails, delivery suppression and retry/review controls help prevent re-addition. A website opt-in does not automatically override an uncertain newer unsubscribe at Sender.

Deleting an account removes its preferences and queues its previous email for removal from Sender. Changing an account email queues the old address for removal; recorded preferences follow the account, subject to email verification and suppression checks. Minimal consent evidence, unsubscribe/suppression records and removal evidence can remain after account deletion to honour prior choices and resolve compliance or security questions. We retain these records only while reasonably necessary for those purposes and review deletion requests, applicable obligations and backup retention. This policy does not promise a fixed deletion period that the system cannot guarantee.

International Processing and Privacy Requests

Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Applicable privacy protections can differ by location. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may request access, correction, export or deletion, or object to marketing. Contact hello@upsideindex.com; we review requests under the requirements that apply to them. Withdrawing marketing permission does not close your account.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share data with service providers, comply with lawful requests, enforce site terms, protect users or the platform, or transfer data as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

Data Retention and Deletion

Account and product data may be retained while an account is active or as needed for security, legal, tax, backup, and operational purposes. Users may request access, correction, export, or deletion of account data by contacting support through the site contact channels.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information, but no website, browser storage system, or internet transmission is perfectly secure. Users should use strong passwords and sign out on shared devices.

Children's Privacy

The Upside Index is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that such information was collected, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Sports Information Disclaimer

All rankings, projections, fantasy outputs, draft tools, trivia games, and editorial content are for informational and entertainment purposes only. They are not betting advice, financial advice, legal advice, or professional scouting services. Users are responsible for how they use the information.

Changes

We may update this policy as features, providers, laws, and account systems change. Material updates will be reflected by changing the effective date on this page.
